do eaton 12 bolt and 8.5 rears share spider gears?

looking at rebuilding a 12 bolt eaton. i am having a hard time finding parts for the internals. does the eaton 8.5 share the same internals? thanks tom
Hi Tom, aftermarket maybe... but not factory. all factory 8.5 410409 and 410408 are trac lok type posi units and have totally different clutch paks and spider gears.
Eaton well now I will have to try them and get back to you.
Areas of consern. pinion shaft diameter???
Side gears might be the same but the small spider gears??? I do not know. I will check over the holidays to see. GOOD question. Like them cause I get to learn new things also.c Jim.
