Is there some way to tell what posi unit will or won't work in a 12 bolt chevelle rear

Does the Carrier for a limitied slip 12 bolt rear end matter if it comes out of a lets say impala and is going into a 12 bolt chevelle.
Is there some way to tell what posi unit will or won't work in a 12 bolt chevelle rear

12 bolt chevy (c-clip axle retention) car differential carriers will all interchange from 1965 -1972
chevy II
Impala
Chevelle
Monte Carlo
El Camino
Camaro
Nova
Castings are as follows ---

2 series ED 32088 2.56 and 2.73 factory gears
3 series 30140PM1 3.08 - 3.73 factory gears
4 series EDB 30174 3.90 and up Factory gears
