swap out 4.89 to 3.73?

I have a Dana 44, w/4.89, and I believe I need series 3 carrier w/3.73 ring and pinion? advise. I am interested in purchasing, my vehicle is a 1951 studebaker pick-up. Thank you, Dana, email,

Yes that is correct- This needs to go in the differential general question thread-
3.73 3.54 3.31 3.08 are on a carrier and the 3.91 4.10 4.30 4.56 4.88 are in the steep carrier.
about 400.00 gets you a NEW unit - You do need to know if you have 30 spline of 19 spline axles though.

155-160 for the 3.73 gears if you need.
