Differential ID

Post by dustanj »

I have a diff with a ring gear that measures 8 7/8" od. Has a US Patent # 2821096 on it. The ring gear that was on it has what looks like a GM # 1675490. The patent # is for a locking style differential. Just want to know if someone can give me an idea of application. See attached pictures. Thank you.

That is a Mopar 8.75 Auburn Posi unit - 30 spline axle side gears - Fit the third member drop out from 1957-1972 cars and trucks.
attacked is a picture of a third member.
Usually they are worn out by the time we get them...We can machine them once but after that they are throw away.

Let me know if you are unloading. YOU can ack it a part to see if the cones are bottomed out for resale. Jim

Thanks Jim. I am looking to get rid of it. Is it something I can ship to you to determine if it is usable? Maybe hook me up with an Eaton 19559-010 or similar. Let me know where to ship it. Thanks again. Dustan

Yes you can send it or you can disassemble it and take pictures and I will tell you. REMmber the bolts are reverse / Left hand thread to the carrier case that bolts together so do not go the wrong way or you will be in real trouble if you brake one .

I can get you the Eaton 30 spline posi if you need. I will see if we have any good deals on the shelf maybe a NO BOX deal. Jim

You can send the unit PM me for an address and will crack it open and show you pictures and tell you if we can use it or not and even give something to you off the unit you need. Jim
