Ok Well you should never had to heated the bearings you should have asked those question before doing that. I would have helped with ideas.

When you remove the pinion each time you drive it out with a 45 degree steel or brass punch in the centering hole and into a soft pile of rags or cardboard newspaper etc. If in the car just a larger told towel in the cavity and the punch with the 4# sledge would have driven the pinion out safely.

I wll price out the parts for you.
