3R - 1350 U-Joint question

Post by Singleton »

Have a '72 Buick 8.5 rear, (built by JDRace), in a 66 GTO.

I'm having a driveshaft built with 1350 u-joints. The 8.5 rear has the stock yoke which takes the 3R u-joint, (also known as the saginaw s44?).
The only 3R to 1350 conversion joint that I can find is the Neapco 2-1153 which is the crossdrilled and greasable type. I would like a solid joint for strength since the GTO is a manual trans and will see dragstrip action occasionally.
Does anyone know of a solid 3r-1350 joint? If not, I guess my next option would be to replace the 3R yoke with a 1350 yoke, which I would rather not do.

You will need to go to a Super Joint name brand u-joint. They all are solid like the old original equipment pieces.

Thanks, but the IED-2-1153 is the same joint that I referenced in the first post. It's the correct 3R to 1350 joint, but its greasable, not solid. I've searched for hours, and that joint seems to be the only one available
