I see that richmond sells 28 spline mini spool for 7.5's. Can u simply remove the 26 spline spider gears and install the 28 spline mini spool along with 28 spline moser axles?

NO sorry that will not work. You need a 28 spline open carrier (1990-2004 7.625 rear) to use the 28 spline mini spool. We have them pretty cheap here for 30.00 Plus 10 shipping.
The cavity is wider that the 26 spline PLUS you would need to hog out the axle bearing hub axle engagement hole in the carrier on the passenger and driver side.
