81' TA posi carrier

Jim,
I have the chance to pick up the gears and posi from an 81 TA. I need a 28 spline axle posi though. Do you know if an 81' TA is the 28 spline or the 30 spline axles?
Also,this posi/gears are going to be for an 8.5" A-body rear,is an 81' TA even an 8.5? I thought 80' was the last year firebirds came with 8.5's. Seller thinks it's an 8.5.

1981 IS THE last year for the 8.5 10 bolt rear. ALL 10 bolt 8.5 rears up to 1987 are 28 spline. INCLUDING your 1981 camaro.

I was just going by the differential ID page on this site,it says that 70-80' Firebird/Camaro is 8.5. So I figured this might be something else being an 81'.

OOPS... will have to fix that. You can post a picture and will check it to be sure. Jim

OR you can match the cover with the picture from the ID rear area 10 bolt 8.5 or 7.5. I have not seen a 7.5 yet in a 70-81 1982 they started the new body style torque arm rear.
