10 bolt 323 gears for 72 v code

Post by 455M20 »

Hello, I have a 1972 442 V Code 455 4 speed that originally came with 323 gears. It has it's original SR code standard 10 bolt axle. The previous owner decided to change it to posi 373 gears. He paid over $1400 in 2003 to do this. I would like to change back to 323 gears. Do you have the parts or can you send me in the right direction. Is this mission impossible?

Yes, we have the parts and the rear shold be a 10 bolt 8.5 corporate GM rear.
carrier break is 2.41-2.56 2 series
carrier break is 2.73 - 5.57 3 series
Ring diameter is 8.5" (outer ring gear edge furthest points)
Pinion spline is 30
Pinion shaft is 1.625 diameter.
tooth count for 3.23 will be 13 pinion and 42 ring divide and you get 3.2307692 or rounded 3.23 ratio

We have sent you a pay pal money request for the gears you need.

Thank you, Jim Mitschke
