thanks for the info Jim....looked in my service manual and it says the breaks are 2.29 ,2.41 2.56 and one for the 2.73 2.93 3.08 and one for the 3.23 3.42 3.55 3.73 and 4.11.......will the 12 bolt fit right in place of 10 bolt? with no modification? if it is a 3.08 what is your opinion is it to high ...

I have 68 Cat wagon with an open 2.56 rear end in it now ..I am looking to put posi in it...how low can I go in ratio and still be able to drive it on the highway with out excessive rpms?..and what would be the cheapest way to do that sticking with all GM parts...I have 2 sets of wheels for it ...
